Lisa Boyer, DVM graduated from U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She currently practices as both an emergency and critical care veterinarian as well as a general practitioner. She is a graduate of the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine as well as Dr. Richard Pitcairn’s course in Veterinary Homeopathy.
Dr. Boyer practices integrative medicine by combining treatments from conventional and alternative medicine. She focuses on helping her patients achieve optimal health and wellness and she utilizes modalities for which there is some high-quality evidence of safety and effectiveness. Dr. Boyer practices acupuncture, Chinese herbology, food therapy and homeopathy. Her multidisciplinary integrative approach successfully treats a multitude of conditions including gastrointestinal problems, urinary tract and renal problems, endocrine disorders, dermatological disorders, osteoarthritis and intervertebral disc disease. These therapies can also be used successfully in oncology cases to improve patient’s quality of life, post-operative pain management and recovery, analgesia, and geriatric care.
Dr. Boyer anticipates being able to offer Regenerative Medicine/Stem Cell Therapy in the near future. Regenerative medicine uses a concentrated form of autologous adipose-derived stem cells to treat traumatic and degenerative diseases including tendon and ligament injuries, osteoarthritis and osteochondral defects in both horses and dogs.
