COPING WITH THE LOSS OF YOUR PET
You may find it extremely difficult to deal with the loss of your beloved pet. It is important to remember that everyone grieves in their own way: You may find that sharing your feelings with family and friends helps. You might also consider memorializing your pet by helping another pet in need. The resources on this page can provide a starting point for you to deal with your loss in the vest way for you. If you would like additional information or counseling, please contact our office or a pet loss support group in your area.

EMOTION WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR PET . . .
Losing a special animal can be one of the most difficult times in your life. The people who staff the Hotline understand this. If you are anticipating the loss of a pet or wish to talk with someone about the death of a beloved animal, the Pet Loss Support Hotline supports you in making decisions and experiencing your feelings.

- Callers place calls at their own expense. There are not additional charges.
- Initial funding was provided by the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association, UC Davis.
- The Hotline is supported solely by private donations and is one of the many projects of the Human-Animal Program-dedicated to improving the quality of life for people and animals
